Young Knives

Young Knives is an indie rock band hailing from Ashby-de-la-Zouch, England. Formed in 1998, the band originally consisted of brothers Henry Dartnall (vocals, guitar) and Thomas "The House of Lords" Dartnall (bass, backing vocals), along with Oliver Askew (drums). Known for their energetic and quirky style, Young Knives rose to prominence in the mid-2000s with their sharp, punk-inspired sound. Their debut album, "Voices of Animals and Men," released in 2006, was critically acclaimed, spawning popular singles like "The Decision" and "She's Attracted To." The band’s music is characterized by witty, often satirical lyrics, and a blend of post-punk and new wave influences. Over the years, Young Knives have released several albums, including "Superabundance" (2008) and "Royal Society" (2011), showcasing their evolving sound. Despite lineup changes, with Oliver Askew's departure in 2009, the Dartnall brothers continued to push creative boundaries, experimenting with electronic elements in their later work. Resilient and innovative, Young Knives have maintained a dedicated following, captivating audiences with their dynamic performances and distinctive sound.
