Tricky

Tricky, born Adrian Nicholas Matthews Thaws on January 27, 1968, in Bristol, England, is a pioneering figure in the trip-hop genre. Emerging from the vibrant Bristol music scene of the late 1980s and early 1990s, Tricky first gained recognition as part of the influential collective Massive Attack, contributing to their groundbreaking debut album, "Blue Lines" (1991). In 1995, he launched his solo career with the critically acclaimed album "Maxinquaye," named after his late mother, which set a new benchmark for trip-hop with its innovative blend of hip-hop, rock, and electronica. Known for his distinctive whispering vocal style and dark, atmospheric soundscapes, Tricky has released a series of influential albums, including "Pre-Millennium Tension" (1996) and "Angels with Dirty Faces" (1998). Throughout his career, he has collaborated with a wide range of artists, from Björk to Martina Topley-Bird, forging a reputation for pushing musical boundaries.
