The Thrills

The Thrills are an Irish indie rock band that formed in Dublin in 2001. The band consists of lead vocalist Conor Deasy, guitarist Daniel Ryan, guitarist and keyboardist Kevin Horan, bassist Pádraic McMahon, and drummer Ben Carrigan. Known for their sun-soaked melodies and a sound reminiscent of California classic rock, The Thrills quickly gained attention with their debut album, "So Much for the City," released in 2003. The album was both a critical and commercial success, celebrated for its jangly guitars and evocative lyrics depicting coastal Americana, despite the band hailing from Ireland. The Thrills followed their successful debut with "Let's Bottle Bohemia" in 2004, which further established their presence in the indie rock scene. Over time, their sound matured with the release of "Teenager" in 2007, which explored more introspective themes. While the band took a hiatus after this release, their influence continues to be felt. The Thrills' unique blend of lush melodies and vivid storytelling captures a sense of nostalgia and wanderlust, cementing their legacy within the early 2000s alternative music movement.
