The Horrors

The Horrors are an English rock band formed in Southend-on-Sea in 2005. Known for their eclectic sound that incorporates elements of garage rock, post-punk, shoegaze, and gothic rock, the band quickly gained attention with their 2007 debut album, *Strange House*. This initial release showcased a raw, frenetic energy and a penchant for dark, theatrical performances, setting the stage for their subsequent evolution. The band's lineup consists of Faris Badwan (vocals), Joshua Hayward (guitar), Tom Furse (keyboards, synthesizers), Rhys Webb (bass), and Joe Spurgeon (drums). Over the years, The Horrors have been recognized for their ability to continually reinvent their sound, particularly with their critically acclaimed sophomore album, *Primary Colours* (2009), which was produced by Geoff Barrow of Portishead and showcased a more expansive, experimental approach. Following albums such as *Skying* (2011) and *Luminous* (2014) further cemented their reputation for innovation and aesthetic sophistication, drawing comparisons to influential bands like Joy Division and My Bloody Valentine. Their 2017 release, *V*, marked yet another shift, integrating electronic and pop elements. The Horrors remain a dynamic force in alternative music, known for their atmospheric and immersive live performances.
