The Comet Is Coming
The Comet Is Coming is a London-based musical trio known for their distinctive fusion of jazz, electronic music, funk, and psychedelic sounds. Formed in 2013, the band consists of saxophonist Shabaka Hutchings, who also plays with Sons of Kemet and Shabaka and the Ancestors, and the rhythm section of Dan Leavers on keyboards and synthesizers, and Max Hallett on drums. The band burst onto the scene with their debut EP, *Prophecy*, in 2015, followed by their critically acclaimed debut album, *Channel the Spirits*, in 2016. This album was nominated for the prestigious Mercury Prize, highlighting their innovative approach to modern jazz.
