Skepta
Skepta, born Joseph Junior Adenuga on September 19, 1982, is a prominent British rapper, songwriter, and record producer known for his significant impact on the grime music scene. Hailing from Tottenham, North London, Skepta rose to prominence in the early 2000s. Alongside his brother, Jme, he founded the independent label Boy Better Know, which became a vital platform for grime artists. Skepta's debut album, "Greatest Hits," was released in 2007, but it was his fourth studio album, "Konnichiwa," released in 2016, that earned him international acclaim. The album won the Mercury Prize, celebrating its blend of hard-hitting beats and incisive lyricism that addressed social issues and celebrated British culture. Influenced by American hip-hop and Jamaican dancehall, Skepta's style is a fusion of sharp, rapid-fire delivery with gritty, urban beats.
