Neon Neon

Neon Neon is a collaborative music project formed by Gruff Rhys, lead singer of the Welsh band Super Furry Animals, and producer Boom Bip (Bryan Hollon), an American electronic musician. The duo is known for their innovative blend of synth-pop, electro, and alternative rock, creating a distinctive sound that captures the essence of 1980s nostalgia while exploring eclectic and often conceptual themes. Neon Neon debuted with their first album, "Stainless Style," in 2008. This critically acclaimed release is a conceptual album based on the life of John DeLorean, the enigmatic automotive executive known for the iconic DeLorean sports car. The album's tracks feature a range of guest artists and expertly weave together stories of ambition, excess, and the American Dream. In 2013, Neon Neon released their second album, "Praxis Makes Perfect," a concept album about the life of influential Italian publisher and left-wing activist Giangiacomo Feltrinelli. Again, the duo showcased their ability to craft engaging narratives through vibrant electronic soundscapes. Known for their thematic ambition and sonic creativity, Neon Neon remains a fascinating project, revered for its unique storytelling approach and genre-crossing compositions.
