Jockstrap

Jockstrap is a British electronic music duo formed in 2017 by Georgia Ellery and Taylor Skye while they were students at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London. Known for their eclectic sound, Jockstrap blends elements of pop, electronic, and experimental music, creating a unique sonic palette that defies easy categorization. Georgia Ellery, who is also a member of the jazz-influenced band Black Country, New Road, brings her skills as a violinist and vocalist to the duo, while Taylor Skye handles production, crafting intricate and innovative beats. Their collaboration has resulted in a distinctive style characterized by Ellery's ethereal vocals complemented by Skye's lush and often unpredictable arrangements. Jockstrap gained critical attention with their debut EP, "Love is the Key to the City," released in 2018. Following this, they signed with the prestigious independent label Warp Records in 2020, known for its roster of forward-thinking artists. In 2022, Jockstrap released their debut album, "I Love You Jennifer B," further solidifying their reputation as avant-garde musicians pushing the boundaries of contemporary music. Jockstrap continues to intrigue and captivate audiences with their innovative approach and genre-defying sound.
