Gwenno Saunders is a Welsh musician known for her ethereal and innovative blend of electronic and folk music. Born on May 23, 1981, in Cardiff, Wales, Gwenno showed an early inclination towards the arts, influenced by her family's strong cultural and musical heritage. Before embarking on her solo career, she gained recognition as a member of the indie pop group The Pipettes, where she performed from 2005 to 2008. After leaving the band, Gwenno focused on crafting her unique sound, deeply rooted in her Welsh and Cornish heritage. Her debut solo album, "Y Dydd Olaf," released in 2014, was sung entirely in Welsh and Cornish, reflecting her commitment to preserving these languages. The album garnered critical acclaim for its fusion of dreamy synths and traditional influences, earning Gwenno a Welsh Music Prize in 2015.
