Glasvegas

Glasvegas is a Scottish indie rock band formed in Glasgow in 2003. The original lineup consists of James Allan (vocals, rhythm guitar), Rab Allan (lead guitar), Paul Donoghue (bass guitar), and Caroline McKay (drums). Known for their emotive sound and deeply introspective lyrics, Glasvegas gained significant attention with their self-titled debut album, released in 2008. The album was both a critical and commercial success, featuring standout tracks such as "Daddy’s Gone" and "Geraldine," which resonated with audiences for their raw, heartfelt storytelling and anthemic sound. The band's music is characterized by its reverb-heavy, wall-of-sound production, drawing comparisons to artists like The Jesus and Mary Chain and Phil Spector. Following the success of their debut, Glasvegas released multiple albums, including "EUPHORIC /// HEARTBREAK \\\\" in 2011 and "Later...When the TV Turns to Static" in 2013, showcasing their evolving sound. Despite lineup changes over the years, with Caroline McKay departing in 2010, the band has maintained a dedicated fan base and continues to be a vital part of the UK's indie rock scene, known for their passionate live performances and distinctive Scottish identity.
