Fontaines D.C.
Fontaines D.C. is an Irish post-punk band formed in Dublin in 2017. The band consists of Grian Chatten on vocals, Carlos O’Connell and Conor Curley on guitars, Conor Deegan III on bass, and Tom Coll on drums. The members met while attending music college and bonded over a shared passion for poetry and punk music, creating a unique blend of raw energy and lyrical depth. The band's debut album, *Dogrel*, released in 2019, received critical acclaim for its gritty sound and evocative storytelling, earning a nomination for the Mercury Prize. Drawing inspiration from the likes of The Pogues and The Strokes, Fontaines D.C. crafts songs that capture the essence of contemporary life in Dublin. Their sophomore album, *A Hero’s Death* (2020), showcased a more introspective and mature sound, earning a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Album. Constantly evolving, the band released *Skinty Fia* in 2022, which further solidified their place in the alternative music scene. Known for their intense live performances and authentic connection to their roots, Fontaines D.C. have cemented a reputation as one of the most vital voices in modern rock.
