Floetry

Floetry is a British R&B and soul duo formed in 1997, consisting of Marsha Ambrosius ("The Songstress") and Natalie Stewart ("The Floacist"). Hailing from London, the pair met through their mutual love of music and poetry, blending their talents to create a unique sound that merges soulful melodies with spoken word poetry. In the early 2000s, Floetry relocated to the United States, where they found considerable success. They released their debut album, "Floetic," in 2002, which featured hits like "Floetic" and "Say Yes." The album was well-received, earning them several Grammy nominations and solidifying their place in the contemporary R&B scene. Their sophomore album, "Flo'Ology," released in 2005, continued to showcase their innovative style and lyrical prowess, further establishing their artistic influence. Despite their success, the duo disbanded in 2007 to pursue solo careers. Marsha Ambrosius released several solo albums, while Natalie Stewart continued to perform and produce spoken word projects. Floetry briefly reunited in 2015 for a successful tour, delighting fans who had long awaited their return. The duo remains celebrated for their distinctive sound and contribution to the evolution of neo-soul.
