East India Youth

East India Youth is the stage name of William Doyle, an English musician and producer known for his innovative blend of electronic, pop, and alternative sounds. Born on January 22, 1991, in Bournemouth, England, Doyle initially emerged onto the music scene as a member of the indie band Doyle & The Fourfathers. After the band dissolved, Doyle embarked on a solo career, adopting the moniker East India Youth, inspired by the East India Docks area of London where he lived. He gained significant attention with the release of his debut EP, "Hostel," in 2013, which was soon followed by his critically acclaimed full-length album, "Total Strife Forever," in 2014. The album earned a Mercury Prize nomination, helping to establish Doyle as a prominent figure in contemporary electronic music. His sophomore album, "Culture of Volume" (2015), further showcased his ability to blend lush electronic landscapes with poignant songwriting. After retiring the East India Youth name in 2016 to pursue new artistic directions, Doyle continued to release music under his given name. Despite the brief life of the East India Youth project, Doyle left a lasting impact on the electronic and indie music scenes with his genre-defying works.
